Baltic Transport 2013 highlights - Start-up of the Baltic/Pan-European feeder network

Unifeeder acquired United Feeder Services operator in Med/Black Seas.

The Denmark-headquartered company has taken over United Feeder Services which network covers over 35 ports across the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.

Jesper Kristensen, CEO of Unifeeder A/S, commented on the occasion: “We will continue to build economies of scale in our operations, which is the key to our long-term competitiveness. Combining our efforts enables us to strengthen our companies in Northern Europe as well as in the Mediterranean.”

In the Baltic Sea Unifeeder offers the “thickest” feeder and short-sea network among sea operators. Judging from the 2015 year perspective with its stricter sulphur regulations, the company will try to offer a Baltic/Pan-European short-sea & feeder network that is more competitive than ro-ro.

In 2012, Unifeeder also acquired Feederlink with its container supply chain between the hubs of Felixstowe and Rotterdam and the UK ports of Grangemouth, South Shields, Teesport and Immingham.
