BTJ 1/17 - Ideas-turned-business. The state of entrepreneurship in the Baltic

Entrepreneurship is one of the economy's drivetrains.

Just look at the way Poland and the Baltics set off once they abandoned the Soviet Bloc and its distrust towards private initiative, or in contrast at North Korea where free enterprise is supressed by ideology, aggravating the country's ills.

As such, the latest edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI), issued by the Washington DC-based Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute (GEDI), points to a clear relation between various elements of entrepreneurship and prosperity. Sweden and Denmark represent our region in the Top 10.
