BTJ 2/17 - Safety in numbers. The transport and logistics industry working together towards a safer supply chain

The IMO Secretary General, Kitack Lim, and European Commission (EC) officials were present at a one day seminar in Brussels...

... to mark the launch of a concerted and coordinated initiative aimed at disseminating and encouraging the use of the Code of Practice for Packing of Cargo Transport Units (CTU Code).

During the meeting, communication of good practice in packing and securing cargo across all modes was urged in order to reduce the incidence of injury and fatalities to supply chain personnel and third parties, as well as the loss and damage of cargo.
