Baltic Transport Journal invites you to free-to-attend morning sessions at Intermodal Europe dedicated to the Baltic Sea Region.

Baltic sessions at Intermodal Europe 2013, 10th October, Hamburg Messe, 10:30-12:15

Our team is organizing the Baltic Sea Region Forum (10th October 2013, Hamburg Messe, 10:30-12:15) which will host two discussion sessions with a short coffee break:

  1. Discussion panel, part 1: Future shortsea/feeder patterns on the Baltic Sea (10:30-11:15)
  • How can ocean alliances influence the Baltic feeder/shortsea networks?
  • Will ocean carriers further expand with own feeders & more direct services?
  • How local players can respond to ths expansion, e.g. by feeder/shortsea alliances?
  • What loops (long or short) will dominate/what Baltic-handy vessels can we expect from 2015?
  • How much can shortsea traffic move to containers from today’s trailers and ro-ro?
  1. Discussion panel, part 2: A quest for the Baltic Sea hub (11:30-12:15)
  • Which Baltic ports/terminals have potential for transhipment functions?
  • How are the ports in South Europe preparing to hubbing SECA zone?
  • Will Hamburg-Antwerp range keep their hub supremacy for the region?
  • How should rail intermodal services change from 2015?
