In 2015, the Baltic shipbuilding industry reached its lowest point in post-war history.

Last year's completions were about two thousand gross tonnage units lower than in 1946.

Naturally, the measurement methodology has changed since then, but most probably if we had calculated the tonnages of vessels built seven decades ago according to today’s principles, the gap would widen even more in favour of 1946's yards…
