BTJ 6/16 - Mapped out anew. Making Aland Islands' fairways better
Publication date: 2017-02-06
Back in 2014, the Government of the Åland Islands launched a programme under which all regional fairways are to be fully inspected, planned, and if necessary also corrected.
Basically, it's about making fairways better, hence keeping navigation out of harm's way.
Domestic ferry traffic is of utmost importance to the Ålands, an archipelago of 6,700 islands resting between Finland and Sweden, and populated by around 30,000.
