Tonnage-wise, a total of 1.90mt of containerized freight was handled at the Latvian seaport, a decrease of 6.1% on the I-V 2019 result.
Overall, 10.05mt was taken care of in the reported period (-25.8% year-on-year), out of which the turnover of dry bulk amounted to 5.97mt (-29.4% yoy), general cargo - 2.91mt (-16.6% yoy), and liquid bulk - 1.16mt (-27.1% yoy).
Following the coronavirus pandemic, the port's passenger traffic was hit exceptionally hard, going down by 62.3% yoy to 111,548 people brought on-board ferries (there was no cruise traffic which by end-May 2019 summed up to 16,802 guests).
