SilverRail, Snälltåget, and Airmee will use SEK100k granted by Vinnova, a research & development company set up by the Swedish government, to investigate the feasibility of introducing a rail service that combines cargo and passenger transportation between Stockholm and Malmö.
The aim is to use spare capacity on passenger trains - because of fewer people travelling in times of a pandemic, for example - to transport light-duty shipments, thus reinforce economic recovery with new logistics solutions.
