Counting 18 metres per one cargo unit, the Danish shipping line's ferry & ro-ro fleet carried some 2.27m trucks & trailers.
However, a total of 3,594k lane metres (199.7k ro-ro cargo units) was filled in December 2020 alone, an increase of 27.9% year-on-year. This was, according to DFDS, an indication of stockbuilding ahead of Brexit, especially on the routes connecting the UK with the Netherlands and Sweden.
The number of passengers, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, decreased by 70.7% yoy, down to 1,498k travellers in 2020.
