Both export and import container traffic rose by 1.4% year-on-year, to a total of 6,318,866 and 5,704,220 TEUs, respectively.
Tonnage-wide, containerised freight amounted to 139.01mt, an increase of 0.2% yoy.
In total, the Port of Antwerp took care of 230.85mt last year, a 3.1% downtick on the result from 2019.
Apart from goods coming in and out in containers, the port also handled 69.02mt of liquid bulk (-4.2% yoy), 11.56mt of dry bulk (-17% yoy), 6.61mt of break-bulk (-20.6% yoy), and 4.64mt of wheeled (ro-ro) cargo (-9.4% yoy).
Aggregated as one, general cargo turnover totalled 150.27mt (-1.3% yoy).
