Lights to the gate

This seems to be an update of the Baltic Transport Journal's 2/2017 "Collector's Corner."

In February, we discussed which Latvian lighthouse stamps would follow, after presenting all of the country's 11 shining "classical" towers made of brick, concrete, cast iron or steel tubes. Will the next one show an extinguished lighthouse or a beacon of a framed construction, topped with a light?

No one knows. The latest stamp (edited in September 2017) depicts the entrance to the small fishingharbour Roja in the Gulf of Riga, and two light beacons located at the head of its breakwaters. This innovation - if continued - provides themes for some next 10 years, because at least 11 pairs of breakwaters stick out from the Latvian coast.
