Eimskip introduces the Red Line service
Publication date: 2017-03-02
The Icelandic shipping company has kicked off a new route, linking the Baltic Sea with the Faroe Islands and Iceland.
The weekly Red Line is served by two chartered 698 TEU of capacity (incl. 120 reefer plugs) container ships, Ice Moon and Ice Star, which now link the Baltic ports of Aarhus, Halmstad, Frederikstad and Świnoujście with the Faroese Tórshavn and the Icelandic Reykjavík.
As was the case in the past, when Frederikstad and Świnoujście were included in Eimskip's Grey Line, the company's vessels will call at these ports alternately every second week.
However, the Red Line will undergo a change at the break of April and May, when Eimskip will start calling at Helsingborg instead of Halmstad. In addition, Eimskip will open its warehouse in Helsingborg port for container stuffing and stripping.
Eimskip's other Baltic-linked service, the Blue Line, remains unchanged.
