Polferries buys a ship from the secondary market

The Polish state-owned ferry company has bought from the Bulgaria West Port the 15-year old ro-pax Drujba.

The vessel is 180.5 m long and 25 m wide, offering approx. 2,000 lane metres of cargo capacity, as well as space for up to 550 passengers (with cabin room for 400 of them).

Drujba will be handed over to her new owners in the second half of May, and will most probably start to ply under a new name of Cracovia on the Świnoujście-Ystad route in June after an overhaul in a shipyard.

Most recently, the ferry sailed between the Bulgarian Burgas and Georgian Batumi, making an occasional stop at the Russian Novorossiysk from time to time.
