Seago Line's new intra-Baltic service

The feeder and short sea arm of Maersk Line has kicked off a new container connection between Poland and Sweden.

The service in question links Gdańsk with Gävle and Norrköping. The company's vessels are departing from DCT Gdańsk on Saturdays, arriving two days later at Gävle's Container Terminal Yilport, and after additional two at Norrköping's Pampus Container Terminal.

The new short sea service is served by two 2006-built sisterships, Adelina D and Annaba, each offering around 1,500 TEU of capacity.

"We are happy to offer our customers in both key Baltic markets a solution that meets their specific transportation needs and enables further trade growth. Main Polish export commodities to Sweden include electro machineries and metallurgical products, followed by chemicals and agricultural products - all of which have a significant potential for conversion into containerised transport," Wojciech Muchlado, Seago Line Managing Director for East Central Europe, commented.
