All of Terntank's newbuilds commissioned

Avic Dingheng Shipbuilding has delivered the fourth and last dual-fuel (LNG) oil products tanker to Terntank.

The 15,000 dwt Tern Ocean left the Chinese shipyard on March 15th, and set course for Indonesia, where she'll be loaded with Rotterdam-bound cargo. After arriving in the Dutch harbour at the beginning of May, Tern Ocean will be time-chartered to the Swedish petroleum corporation Preem.

Terntank's dual-fuel newbuildings are 147 m long, 22 m wide, have a draft of 9.0 m, and feature 16.6 m3 of freight capacity.

"We are extremely satisfied with the end result. It has been an incredibly exciting and interesting journey from the very beginning, together with designers from Rolls-Royce and the Avic Dingheng yard, to construct these four vessels for our clients NEOT, Preem, and Exxon," Tryggve Möller, Terntank's Vice Chairman, commented.

He further added, "We have literally put very demanding requirements, first and foremost concerning bunker consumption and emissions, as well as overall performance. In order to achieve this, we had to introduce a lot of new technologies, the dual-fuel LNG system being only one of the elements. We are also tremendously grateful and glad that we have indeed realized these challenging goals, so that we can become a vital part in our clients' strive in reducing their environmental footprint."
