Viking Line to boost the Hel-Tal route

From April 10th to October 22nd, the catamaran Viking Faster (FSTR) will be deployed between the ports of Helsinki and Tallinn along with Viking XPRS.

The chartered (Gotlandsbåten's HSC Express) 91 m long high-speed (42 knots) vessel will offer space for approx. 850 passengers and 120 of their cars. Viking Faster's spring and autumn timetable will include four to six daily sailings, each taking about 1 hour and 45 minutes, adding to XPRS' four. Departures on-board Viking Faster will become bookable as of March 15th.

During the high season, however, Viking Line will further increase the number of departures between Helsinki and Tallinn, up to 12 per day, as ferries serving the Helsinki-Stockholm route will make one return sailing to Tallinn during the day.

"Some people like to spend time on the vessel, while others want to get where they are going as fast as possible. So we decided to rent a vessel to make express sailings. This year we also want to start up the additional sailings beginning in the spring and continue them well into the autumn. There is such a great demand, and we do not want to leave anyone on shore," Kaj Takolander, Vice President Marketing and Sales at Viking Line, commented.
