The STM Validation Project has initiated the setup of the Port Collaborative Decision Making Council tasked with improving maritime transport both locally and globally.
The PortCDM Council will aim at establishing and implementing necessary overarching guidelines, processes, procedures, as well as technical infrastructure in the form of standardized, safe, and secure real-time communication in order to cater port stakeholders with a standardized approach and fast turnaround times for visiting vessels.
The PortCDM Council will work towards aligning local and global port and maritime operations. As such, the Council’s works will focus on defining a common network, which on the one hand will allow for the greatest possible customization to meet each port’s specific needs, and on the other will provide enough standardization, so that ships will be able to move trouble-free from port to port and best utilize different port collaborative decision making implementations.
Port and shipping stakeholders will meet virtually for the first time on March 29th for an inauguration meeting, when next steps will be decided upon to fully establish the Council.
