The increase was driven by dry bulk, the handling of which rose by 12.9% on the Q1 2019 result, up to 10.06mt.
At the same time less liquid bulk and general cargo was handled, a decrease of 2.4% and 6.8% year-on-year, respectively, down to 16.39mt and 526.6kt.
A total of 14,435 TEUs was taken care of, too, a downtick of 3.9% yoy.
