Tonnage-wise, containerised freight contracted by 2.1% year-on-year to a total of 4.84mt.

Overall, the handling of general cargo (incl. timber) amounted to 5.35mt, a decrease of 3.3% vs. Q1 2019.

With 3.26mt (-16.8% yoy) liquid bulk came in second, followed by 1.26mt of coal (-27.5% yoy), 1.07mt of other dry bulk (+6.4% yoy), and 339.7kt of grains (+223% yoy).

Overall, the Port of Gdańsk took care of 11.29mt over 2020's first quarter, 8.3% less than in the corresponding period last year.

In addition, 28,040 passengers sailed to and from Gdańsk, an increase of 11.6% yoy.
