Some 181k trucks (-8% year-on-year), 63.7k trailers (-4% yoy), and nearly 10k railcars (on par with the H1 2019 result) went through Rostock seaport's quays, a decrease of 6.1% yoy.
The port's intermodal traffic toted up to 44,661 units, a 3% drop on the volume seen in 2019’s first half.
In total, Rostock seaport took care of almost 13mt (-5% yoy), including 7.53mt of wheeled (ro-ro & ferry) cargo (-10% yoy), 3.6mt of dry bulk (+21% yoy, out of which grain handling increased by 47% to 2.2mt), 1.26mt of liquid bulk (-28.4% yoy), 287kt of paper & wood pulp (-20.3% yoy), and 283kt of break-bulk (+7% yoy).
Rostock's passenger traffic was halved by the coronavirus pandemic to altogether 546k ferry travellers, plus 102,360 pax cars.
