According to the governmental agency Statistics Lithuania, a total of 11.17mt (-6.6% year-on-year) was handled over the first quarter, followed by 10.67mt (-8.9% yoy) in the second.
A total of 146.8k passengers (ferry only) went through Klaipėda's quays in H1 2020, a drop of 20.1% on the result for the corresponding period last year. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, there were no cruise calls till this year's first half's end (27.2k cruise guest in H1 2019).
Taking into account ferry traffic only, there was an increase of 1.2% yoy over the first quarter, up to 66k travellers, but a decrease of 11.5% yoy in the April-June period, down to 80.8k people. In total, the Lithuanian port's ferry traffic contracted by 6.2% yoy.
