Trelleborg is going to have a new monument, probably the highest in the city!
The gate from the ferry berth no. 7, which since 1909 had been lifting a shore-ramp for rail ferries linking the German (via Sassnitz) and Swedish trunk networks, is on the move and after a facelift will sit beside the central rail station.
Usually, all monuments have some sort of a plaque, and we sincerely hope that the old ferry gate will have one, too, maybe with how many cargo operations it served as well as the number of railcars that rolled via the link-span. That would be 60 thousand and over one million, respectively!
