While trade and commerce were bustling for centuries, Raahe turned into a quiet rural town as the 20th century unfolded.
That said, the Port of Raahe is nowadays busy with handling all sorts of imports & exports, i.a., thanks to the largest investment in the town's history, the €28m deep-water harbour, the operations of which kicked off in 2010.
