This year's edition of the World Ports Conference of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH's) took place in late June.
Shortly after the event, we sat down with the organisation's new President, Capt. Karuppiah Subramaniam from the Port Klang, Malaysia, to summarise the meeting and talk about the trends shaping the port industry and its relations with other players in the logistics chain.
It seems that now more than ever, cross-industry collaboration in the fields of sustainability and digitalisation is needed for ports and their partners to address the growing need for greater resilience as new black swans can take off and pick altitude very fast.
