What we wrote about the region's bulk market in 2019 can be very well said about the last year, just in the opposite direction.
With 573.7 million tonnes going through the Baltic quays, the 6.4% year-on-year decrease was deeper than the drop for the entire port market (-6% yoy to 887.5mt).
Such a result should be "credited" to the business' liquid part, which contracted by 8.6% yoy to 318.8mt, while dry - by "just" 3.6% yoy to 254.9mt.
The Top 10 also returned to its 2018 composition - but, this time, Ventspils made room for Brofjorden by noting a sharp decrease (the Swedish port, on the contrary, advancing the most among the region's top bulk dogs, even though it handles liquids only).
