Container-wise, the company transported 2,118k TEUs last year.

Hupac's Transalpine traffic via Switzerland came in first with 597,512 consignments (+11% year-on-year), followed by Non-transalpine - 479,181 (+10.4% yoy) and Transalpine via Austria and France - 46,869 (+10.2% yoy).

"Compared to road transport alone, we have saved the environment 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 and reduced energy consumption by 17 billion megajoules – in addition to relieving the roads of the transport of 21 million tonnes of goods," Michail Stahlhut, Hupac Group's CEO, highlighted.

The company expects to carry 1.5m road consignments by rail by 2026.
