... and the first rail route in Poland (When the world shrank in BTJ 6/15), let's take a closer look at the predecessors of Estonian Railways. And rail transport made a big entrance in Estonia indeed!

The year 1870 was marked with three big events. At the outset, the first train linked Paldiski, Narva, and Gatchina on the October 24th. Then, the line was extended from Gatchina to Tosno. Finally, the existing route was extended to St. Petersburg and Warsaw. The boys got the lead out!
