The Belgian port noted a mixed first three months of this year, with containerised freight going down (-13.3% year-on-year to 31.3mt), while other cargo groups up, e.g., liquid bulk +15.3% yoy to 18.9mt.
Dry bulk turnover also advanced - by 11% yoy to 3.78mt, followed by 2.97mt of break-bulk (+49.1% yoy) and 1.27mt of wheeled (ro-ro) cargo (+2.4% yoy).
TEU-wise, Antwerp's container traffic contracted by 11.6% on the Q1 2021 volume, totalling 2.73m 20's.
