At the same time, the Lithuanian seaport took care of 157,797 trucks & trailers, noting a 4.8% downtick on the H1 2021 result.
According to Statistics Lithuania, some 18.28mt went through Klaipėda's quays over this year's first half (-17.6% year-on-year). The drop accelerated in Q2 2022 (-22.1% yoy to 8.38mt vs -13.4% yoy to 9.9mt in Q1 2022).
On the other hand, the port welcomed more passengers: up 3.7% yoy to 144.2k over H1 2022.
Klaipėda's cruise traffic saw 26.8k travellers arriving in April-July 2022 (data unavailable for the remainder of the summer season), with no cruise passengers in the corresponding period last year.
