Each year, the Baltic Development Forum comes out with a report about the economic climate and outlook of the Baltic Sea region.

This geographic macro-region - which in the BDF's analysis also encompasses Norway, Iceland, Hamburg, and the entire state of Schleswig-Holstein, but at the same time only three Polish voivodeships with coastlines - has an approximate population of 60m.

According to the newest report, the region sees stability, along with promising opportunities to further advance its competitiveness.

However, a few key challenges of a global nature, as well as intraregional inequalities stand in the development's way, too.
