In May 2018, the European Commission (EC) will publish its proposal for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
The proposal will include budgetary commitments and political priorities the EC, the European Parliament, and the Council agree upon at the end of the interinstitutional negotiations.
The outcome of these negotiations will define the future of the European investments in the Trans-European Networks (for energy, telecommunication, and transport), the Cohesion Fund, the European Structural and Investment funds, and the EU investments in research and innovation.
The stakes are therefore high and there’ll be a number of players kicking the ball into each other's court.
