At the same time, the ferry company transported a total of 160,861 tonnes of cargo between the ports of Umeå and Vaasa, noting here an increase by 11.8% year-on-year.
When measured in terms of capacity utilisation, trucks and trailers filled in 143,528 lane metres (+21.9% yoy) on-board the company's ferry Wasa Express.
"It is pleasing to see that this positive development is continuing to unfold, breaking new records. In July alone, we served 44,281 passengers, whereas last year this number was 43,293. Our July freight traffic rose as well - by 28% yoy," Peter Ståhlberg, CEO, Wasaline, commented on the company's results.
