In total, wheeled freight passing the Rostock seaport amounted to 8.0 mln tn in the reported period, staying at the same level as last year.
The seaport's H1 2017 ro-ro & ferry traffic comprised 191,951 trucks (+7.7% year-on-year), 65,865 trailers (+0.7% yoy), and 7,437 railcars (-35.6% yoy). As many as 43,066 trailers (+12.3% yoy) were handled at Rostock's intermodal terminal.
On the whole, the Port of Rostock (incl. the Yara chemical and the fishing harbours) made 14.8 mln tn over 2017's first half, noting a drop by 0.7% yoy. The seaport part of the Rostock port handled 13.9 mln tn (+/-0% yoy). Here the handling of dry bulk and break-bulk decreased by 4.8% yoy and 13.2% yoy to 4.0 mln tn and 330 thou. tn, respectively. At the same time, the turnover of liquids rose by 7.7% yoy to 1.4 mln tn.
Rostock's ferry traffic advanced by 7.5% yoy to just over 1.0 mln travellers.
