The Swedish seaport has noted a new all-time high single-quarter container handling result.
The port's rail container traffic totalled 126k TEUs over 2024's first quarter, up 1.6% year-on-year.
At the same time, 138k ro-ro cargo units went through Gothenburg's quays (-2.1% yoy) as well as 69k new vehicles (-1.4% yoy).
Liquid bulk handling was up 10.9% on the Q1 2023 result, totting up to 5.1 million tonnes. Turnover of dry bulk & break-bulk also advanced - by 30.3% yoy to 142kt.
Passenger traffic also grew - by 10.8% yoy to 256k travellers.
