The handling of ores & concentrates, the Finnish seaport's main trade, advanced by 0.5% year-over-year to 1.06 million tonnes, according to Statistics Finland.
The Port of Kokkola also handled 706.8kt of fertilisers (+2.4% yoy), 623kt of oil products (+9.5% yoy), 530kt of crude minerals & cement (+50.6% yoy), 373.1kt of chemicals (-16.4% yoy), 337.5kt of metals & metal manufactures (+26% yoy), 156.5kt of other goods/break-bulk (-11.1% yoy), 120.7kt of general cargo (+56.1% yoy), 52.5kt of coal & coke (-38.4% yoy), and 21.3kt of timber (-44.7% yoy).
Kokkola's container traffic totted up to 15,722 TEUs (+30.7% yoy).
The port noted no ro-ro traffic vs 33 trucks in 2023.
