The report Wind Energy in Europe: 2024 Statistics and the Outlook for 2025-2030, published in February this year by WindEurope, provides a comprehensive analysis of the wind energy sector's performance in 2024 and projections for the upcoming years.
Europe added 16.4 gigawatts of wind energy capacity last year, with the EU accounting for 12.9GW.
By the end of 2024, Europe's total wind power capacity reached 285GW, comprising 248GW on- and 37GW offshore.
The report emphasises the need for accelerated wind farm deployment and supportive government policies to ensure that wind energy can assist Europe in its transition to a sustainable future.
