"We never had such high passenger volumes, so many freight units, and such a sound result for the first half of a year," Björn Blomqvist, CEO of Rederi Ab Eckerö, commented to Ålands Radio & TV.

The company's Helsinki-Tallinn ferry service saw 975,460 passengers (+8.8% year-on-year), while the Eckerö-Grisslehamn crossing - 459,545 (+5.4% yoy). Altogether 1,435,005 travellers were served (+7.7% yoy).
