The Finnish seaport also took care of more containers, up 4.8% year-on-year to 29,268 TEUs.

The Port of Hanko altogether handled 2.73 million tonnes over this year's first half (+32.1% yoy), of which international cargo traffic accounted for 2.64mt (+31.4% yoy) and domestic for the remaining 83.7kt (+58.1% yoy).

The port also welcomed more passengers travelling by sea - 969 vs 58 in H1 2024.
