Since 1989 the wheeled freight trafic at the Swedish Port of Trelleborg has been growing at an annual average of 6%.
Last year, over one million ro-ro cargo units and passenger cars were handled at what's today Scandinavia's largest port for wheeled freight.
However, in order to keep pace with the mounting volumes, and to ensure that the handling quality stays in the cream of the crop, the port has to move more towards the open sea.
As such, the Port of Trelleborg is now engaged in a number of EU co-fnanced projects.
