International traffic rose by 17.8% year-on-year to 22.8mt in the reported period, followed by almost 13mt (+13.7% yoy) made domestically.
With 20.9mt (+20.2% yoy) road transports dominated the country's Q1 2018 transportation of goods. Railway traffic came in second (+12.9% yoy to 13.3mt). The remaining 1.3mt (-2.9% yoy) was carried through sea/inland waterways.
Road transports served the flow of goods chiefly to and from Latvia (30.5%), Poland (11.4%), Germany (10.9%), and Estonia (5.6%), while rail - Belarus (68.2%), Russia (19.7%), Ukraine (4.8%), Latvia (3%), and Estonia (2%).
