Last year, our region's seaports for the first time in history handled over 300mt of various general cargo goods, out of which three quarters came in trailers, railcars, and containers.
The ro-ro & ferry market, although its share slightly went down in the favour of its steel cube cousin, is still the indisputable king. Nearly half of the general cargo in the Baltic ferries between its ports - and that's a statistically-validated pun.
In contrast to the container segment, however, it's much more less concentrated around a handful of seaports, both when it comes to its freight as well as passenger leg.
