In a recent survey carried out by etf and Localz, shippers of all sizes have identifed upgrading last mile logistics, today often less efcient and more costly than other parts of a supply chain, as the cornerstone for driving growth and proftability.
As such, last mile logistics needs to be adjusted to the requirements of the booming e-commerce, such as putting a higher focus on customer experience and personalisation, as well as to embrace next-gen technologies, like automation and real-time visibility.
For the report The Last Mile Logistics Whitepaper, 2018. The paper comprises the biggest last mile-related challenges faced by these two groups, but also lists opportunities for improving the situation as well as presents the customers' expectations.
