We know that the global population will continue to grow at pace, with the United Nations and World Bank projections putting the global population at 8.6b by 2030. That's an additional one billion people in the next 12 years.
This means we can be assured of increased demand for raw commodities, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure, as well as the movement of goods, services and populations in the years to come.
While every nation will be affected by this gradual population growth, China, perhaps more than any other, appears to be thinking globally and is making significant inroads to ensure it is well positioned to thrive in the decades to come.
