The company, part of Daikin Industries, a Japanese multinational air conditioning manufacturing company headquartered in Osaka, is celebrating this year the 50th anniversary of entering the reefer container market with the LKS501 model - or should we rather say: co-creating a completely new business.

Back a half of a century ago, produce was either available seasonally (and green enthusiasts were eagerly waiting for spring vegetables) or was expensive in the off-season because the only way to transport it relatively fast around the world was by air freight.

Now, thanks i.a. to the active controlled atmosphere technology, you can enjoy your leafy vegetables, blueberries, cherries, lychees, organic grapes, avocados, bananas, hell!, even cut flowers virtually anywhere and anytime. Over the years, Daikin Reefer has supplied more than 250k units to over 300 shipping lines and leasing companies.
