When I finished my MBA studies back in Hamburg in 1999, I had this gut feeling that it will be a stepping stone for developing an international managerial career, "international" being the key word here.
The very same year I got acquainted with transnational logistics, a Vienna-based transport company, doing business between Germany and Poland, approached me with a job offer.
Note this, it was almost two decades ago, in another century, when Poland, in which I was born, wasn't part of the EU, while I lived in Germany since my 17th birthday.
These two had completely different economic systems, not to mention the cultural setting, very much burdened by history. Worlds apart, in short.
