Some ships live to see a rather unhappy ending, like the high-speed craft Tallink Autoexpress 2 which has fallen victim to the political unrest and economic misery in Venezuela. Laid up and left to rot, it eventually halfsank in Puerto de Guanta.

Others, on the contrary, land in safe haven, just as has been the case with the steamship Saltsjön (Swedish for “Salt Lake/Sea”), recently bought by Wallenius Lines and set to entertain new generations of maritime heritage aficionados.

In the Baltic, of course!
