Skangas completed 1,000 liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operations last year, an increase by 60% on the result from previous years.

Truck-to-ship bunkerings accounted for 60% of the total, followed by terminal-to-ship (38%) and ship-to-ship (2%) operations.

"Already, the number of bunkering operations we've executed for the marine market is higher than in Q1 2017. Clearly, 2018 is set to be another exciting year for Skangas, as we continue to provide readily accessible LNG to industries that operate at sea and onshore throughout the Nordics,” Gunnar Helmen, Sales Manager - Marine, Skangas, said.

The company has three tankers in its fleet, including the 5.8k m3 Coralius, Northern Europe's first purpose-built LNG bunkering vessel that entered into operations in September 2017. She is supported by the 15.6 m3 Coral Energy and the 18k m3 Coral EnergICE.

In addition, Skangas operates Finland's first LNG import terminal located in the Port of Pori, terminals in the Swedish Lysekil and in the Norwegian Øra, as well as has a liquefaction plant in Risavika. Soon, the terminal in the Finnish Tornio will be officially commissioned, too (together with Outokumpu, SSAB, and EPV Energy, Skangas is one of the shareholders of the Manga Terminal joint venture).
