Skew Shipping & Transport, based in Gothenburg and Stenungsund, plans to specialise itself in small-scale domestic and cabotage sea shipping.
The company wants to offer port-to-port solutions, particularly in the field of transporting construction materials and special consignments.
Skew Shipping & Transport has kicked off its operations with the help of the 2004-built, 89 m-long, 4,780 dwt-big, 5,968 m3 of hold capacity Vänermax Kinne, chartered from Erik Thun. Her first shipments have been house modules brought from the Baltics to the Port of Gothenburg.
"It's clear that large-scale transportation, where there's much volume coming from many sides, became very vulnerable. That's why we believe in our model - that there's a future for this kind of operation," Kristofer Andrén, one of two founders of Skew Shipping & Transport, said to Sjöfartstidningen.
