A total of 850 thou. passengers were served by the Copenhagen Malmö Port during the regular cruise season which ended in summer.

Altogether 325 ship calls, made by 72 different vessels from 36 shipping companies, were handled at the Port of Copenhagen in 2017. However, there'll be additional six Christmas and New Year cruises before this year's cruise season for CMP finally comes to its conclusion. In 2016, a total of 740 thou. cruise passengers went through the ports' quays.

Copenhagen has already 337 calls scheduled with expected 875 thou. travellers on-board the visiting ships for the 2018 season. At the same time, Malmö is to host nine calls with 10 thou. passengers.

Moreover, CMP will launch and operate a brand-new cruise terminal in Visby on the island of Gotland next year. As a result, Visby looks forward to serving some 90 thou. passengers in 2018, double the figure it saw this year. A new cruise terminal is currently under construction in Copenhagen as well.

"Last season we welcomed 15 larger ships, each with around 4,000 passengers. That number increased many times over this year, as we welcomed 55 such ships. Although the number of passengers increased, we’ve also managed to maintain our high levels of service and quality. That's something I take pride in," Arnt Møller Pedersen, COO Cruise & Ferries, the Copenhagen Malmö Port, commented.
