In Q1 2027, the ferry Huckleberry Finn, owned 50/50 by the partners, will start sailing between Helsinki's Vuosaari and Tallinn's Muuga harbours.
The 177 by 26 metres Ice Class 1A ro-pax offers room for 400 passengers and 2,240 lane metres for rolling cargo.
"This agreement marks an important milestone in the development of freight transportation across the Baltic Sea. By combining the strengths and experience of TT-Line and Viking Line, we can offer customers an efficient and reliable transport solution while further strengthening the transport corridor between Finland and Estonia. We look forward to successful cooperation and to jointly developing the route’s long-term potential," said Bernhard Termühlen, CEO of TT-Line.
His counterpart at Viking Line, Marcus Risberg, also commented, "Huckleberry Finn provides us with a strong platform for developing the service between Vuosaari and Muuga over the long term. Together with TT-Line, we are combining the experience and market knowledge of two shipping companies on an important route between Finland and Estonia."
The company's Freight Director, Harri Tamminen, added, "Demand for efficient transport between Finland and Estonia remains strong. For our customers, ample capacity and high reliability are essential. With the new service, we are strengthening our presence in the market and can offer even better conditions for both current and future transport needs."
